Biography

She holds a degree in Social Education from the University of the Basque Country / Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea (EHU). She has a Master’s degree in Gender Equality and in Public Policy Evaluation, and a PhD in Interdisciplinary Gender Studies from Jaume I University, awarded cum laude.

After several years working in social intervention in Bilbao, she began to focus on international cooperation through awareness-raising and volunteer programmes in Latin America. Her professional trajectory is closely linked to Guatemala, where she lived for 19 years. During this time, she worked at the Guatemalan Institute of Radio Education, taught Social Work and International Relations at Rafael Landívar University, and supported processes addressing gender-based violence and promoting the political empowerment of Indigenous and rural women. This work was carried out with the support of Basque and Spanish cooperation through Nazioarteko Elkartasuna – Solidaridad Internacional. She has also collaborated on numerous education-related projects and initiatives in Guatemala, including the development of educational materials for both formal and non-formal education.

She has extensive experience in programme and project evaluation, as well as in qualitative social research on gender-based violence and education for equality, applying critical approaches and participatory methodologies.
