On April 5th, 2017 Itziar Mujica Chao has defended her doctoral thesis “Kosovoko emakume taldeak erresistentzia zibilean eta bake eraikuntzan (1989-2014). Lotura teorikoak eta nazioarteko lankidetzaren eragina/ Women’s organizations of Kosovo in civil resistance and peacebuilding (1989-2014). Theoretical relations and influence of the international cooperation” enrolled in the Development Studies Programme and directed by Karlos Pérez de Armiño.

The thesis has been written and defended in Basque and English, fulfilling the requirements for the obtainment of an International Doctorate, with a qualification of Distinction Cum Laude. The research analyses the role of women organisations in the field of civil resistance and peacebuilding in Kosovo, before, during and after the armed conflict; as well as the influence that international cooperation has been exercising on the organisations’ objectives and activities.
