SEMINAR

Violence against women in the final report of the Colombian Truth Commission: perspectives from the Latin American experience

Diana Marcela Gómez Correal, lecturer at CIDER, Interdisciplinary Centre for Development Studies (Universidad de los Andes, Bogotá), will give a lecture on Wednesday 7 June from 16:00 to 18:00 in the Salón de Grados of Zubiria Etxea (Hegoa, Campus of Sarriko, UPV/EHU) entitled "Las violencias contra las mujeres en el informe final de la Comisión de la Verdad de Colombia: miradas situadas en la experiencia latinoamericana" (Violence against women in the final report of the Colombian Truth Commission: perspectives from the Latin American experience).

The talk will address the main contributions of the Final Report of the Colombian Truth Commission to the clarification of violence against women, as well as some of its gaps from a decolonial feminist lens of transitional justice. The Colombian experience will be framed within the development of other truth commissions, as well as the slow but interesting incorporation of such violence and the gender perspective in their work.
