Hello, Food Sovereignty! Self-guided online training on alternative food patterns

Would you like to learn more about fair, healthy and sustainable food systems? Are you interested in the topic, but short on time? Don't worry, you're in luck!

The Hello, Food Sovereignty! course is available online, is self-guided and free of charge. You decide when and how much time to put into it, the modules you wish to take and the order in which to do so.

This course will allow you to:

Learn about the globalised industrial agri-food model and its impacts, as well as alternative models based on food sovereignty.
Gain access to the materials and ideas to incorporate sustainability, gender equity, social justice and food sovereignty approaches into your teaching practice... as well as into your own life!

All the content is divided into these four modules:

Food sovereignty and the right to food

- - How food is produced, transformed and distributed.
  - Problems and impacts of the current global food model.
  - Alternatives to this model.

Educational innovation and critical teaching methods

- - What is our understanding of critical teaching methods and educational innovation?
  - Teaching principles from the perspective of food sovereignty.
  - Transformative educational experiences.

Education and food advertising

- - Who teaches us how to eat?
  - How does advertising, school or society influence us? What has been and is the role of women?
  - Impacts on our health.
  - Food transitions.
  - Alternatives for citizens.

Transformative economies

- - What is the economy?
  - What impacts does this economic model have on our food?
  - Are there other economic models?
  - What values do they promote?
  - Inspiring examples
