The seminar Ecosocial Transitions. Reflections from the Experiences of Cooperation between the Basque Country and the Andean Countries aimed to develop a toolbox based on case studies and local experiences. The featured cases included:
-
Colombia: Inter-cooperation and reconciliation. Key elements in ecosocial transitions for peacebuilding in Cauca, Colombia.
-
Ecuador: The experience of the Council of Agroecological Producers of the Cayambe Canton.
-
Peru: The importance of responsible consumption in agroecology and marketing channels.
-
Bolivia: Beekeeping in the ecosocial transition in the Bolivian Chaco region.
This toolbox is being developed in response to the needs expressed by organisations in the Andean countries, with the aim of facilitating the implementation of the recommendations set out in the book Transiciones ecosociales desde experiencias de Economía Social y Solidaria en Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador y Perú (Ecosocial Transitions from Social and Solidarity Economy Experiences in Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru) (Hegoa, 2024).
We hope both the book and the toolbox will serve as valuable resources for organisations committed to ecosocial transitions in the Andean region, as well as for any international organisations.
