Date: 2025 May 24

The pre-registration period for the Master's Degree in International Cooperation and Emancipatory Education (online) has been open since May 22.

The Master's Degree in Lifelong Learning in International Cooperation and Emancipatory Education seeks to improve the professional skills of individuals linked to cooperation and/or education, and those linked to other fields of social action. We believe that involves: broadening the critical look at the global and local reality; constantly updating the specific content related to cooperation and education, incorporating values, and developing empowering skills for professional development underpinned by social  improvement and ethical criteria. This is a UPV/EHU-specific degree aimed at those students who cannot follow a face-to-face program.

Methodology, format and itineraries

The Master is Degree made up of 60 ECTS credits, divided into the 12 subjects that make up the program.

These 12 subjects cover a total of 54 credits and another 6 credits are assigned to the Master's Thesis that the students must carry out.

Each course offers:

  • 20 places for the complete master's degree;

  • 7 additional module places, with two differentiated modules of 30 credits each (including a module final project of 3 credits).

This last option will allow obtaining a University Specialization degree: Module 1, in International Cooperation, and Module 2, in Emancipatory Education.

There are 3 possibilities:

  • Obtain 1 Master's Degree. It implies enrolling in the 60 credits of the Master's Degree.

  • Obtain 1 Specialization Degree and 1 Master's Degree. It implies enrolling and passing a module in order to, in a later course, enroll in the complete Master's Degree. All approved credits are validated (without having to pay anything for them) except for research credits: a Master's Thesis is required.

  • Obtain 2 Specialization Degrees and 1 Master's Degree. It involves registering and passing one module; in a subsequent course, registering and passing the other module; and, in a subsequent course, registering for the Master's Degree. All approved credits are validated (without having to pay anything for them) except for research credits: a Master's Thesis is required.
